A symbol of the rural heritage of the South-West, the dovecote, whether it's square, rectangular or polygonal, is part and parcel of the landscapes of Tarn-et-Garonne. Once a sign of wealth and prestige for its owner, this typical tower with one or two storeys was designed for rearing pigeons with a view to eating their meat and using their droppings as a fertiliser. Nowadays, these relics are a wonderful part of our popular heritage. You can see them along the roads, paths and trails all over the Tarn-et-Garonne countryside.
