The new Museum of the National Resistance opened in 2021 at the Espace Aimé Césaire in Champigny-sur-Marne, in the department of Val-de-Marne. It replaced the old museum that was founded in 1985 and is one of the seven sites of the Museum of the National Resistance.

The museum and education centre covers 1,000 m² and houses an exceptional collection dedicated to the history of the French Resistance from 1929 to 1947 Three floors of exhibition space, with more than 6,000 exhibits from private or public donations, bear witness to the stories and challenges of this period of history. The permanent exhibition features an extensive display of works, immersing you in the heart of the French Resistance. Photos, letters from those who were later executed by firing squad, captivity diaries, poems, clandestine posters and other objects are all on display to illustrate the struggle waged by men and women who fought for our freedom. These reminders of the past are accompanied by temporary exhibitions.

The museum's former site, the Espace Crémieux-Brilhac, has become a centre for the conservation and consultation of collections and research. Now open to the public, it reveals a wide range of archives relating to the various stages of the Second World War, as well as works of art relating to that period, including photos by Doisneau, watercolours by Boris Taslitzky and the original manuscript of Paul Éluard's poem Liberté.
