You will meet your captain at around 7:45 am at the marina of Le Gosier to discover the Grand Cul-de-sac marin. This vast lagoon of 15,000 hectares, located between North Basse-Terre and North Grande-Terre, is classified as a maritime nature reserve. Thanks to its coral reef, it has a great diversity of fauna and flora. You will board a boat in a small group. Your captain will cross the Rivière Salé, an arm of the sea separating Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre, where you will sail along the mangrove swamp. You will then benefit from a snorkeling stop to dive into the turquoise waters of the Grand Cul-de-sac marin bay. You will then sail towards the Ilet Caret, a maritime nature reserve, where the typical West Indian lunch will take place: lettuce and tomatoes with a vinaigrette sauce, smoked chicken with rice and coconut flan. After lunch, you will have time to swim and enjoy the beauty of the setting. You will then reboard the boat to return to Pointe-à-Pitre. On the way back, your captain will give you detailed explanations about the special ecosystem of the mangrove. The return to the port is expected around 4 p.m.
