The ruins of Château-Neuf d'Allinges face those of Château-Vieux, at the top of the hill of Allinges. Visitors can still discover the Romanesque castle chapel from the 11th century with its incredible fresco in the cul-de-four apse. It benefits from a classification as a Historic Monument. Former place of residence of Saint François de Sales in the 16th century, it remains a high place of pilgrimage.
Located on the Belvedere of the Castles which rises to 717 meters, Château-Neuf offers one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Chablais, with a view of the lake, the Jura or the Dent d'Oche. Several explanatory panels are present to reveal the medieval history of the two fortresses.
