Village of Ariège, just a few kilometers from Foix, Bénac takes place on the banks of the Arget, in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of the Ariège Pyrenees. It is located not far from Ganac, Saint-Pierre-de-Rivière and Burret.
Mainly oriented towards agriculture since its origins, the municipality of Bénac is also appreciated by tourists for its proximity to some of the most beautiful tourist sites in the region. It also has an interesting registered historical heritage.

Built in the 12th century, the Notre-Dame church reveals Romanesque architecture typical of the region. Partly restored in the 20th century, it has been listed as a Historic Monument.
While strolling through the village, you can also discover the exteriors of the Château de Lapouge. Built in the 17th century and remodeled in the 19th century, this former residence of the barons of Bellissen-Bénac now houses guest rooms as well as an equestrian relay.
Bénac en Fête takes place at the beginning of August with a program of pétanque competitions, festive evenings, concerts and exhibitions.
