Things to see and do

Built in the mid-fifteenth century and enlarged in the following century, the Saint-Ouen Langpaon church is now the subject of a registration on Historical Monuments. Fully restored in the second half of the nineteenth century, it reveals particular visitors a roof with long tails, discovered a pinion or a square arrow. This hall Gothic church also houses in its interior a beautiful organ of the seventeenth century stained glass or sixteenth.

Beautiful religious building, the Carville St. Peter's church dates from the late fifteenth century. Appreciated for its large tower-square, it reveals a rather homogeneous architecture because of its many changes over the centuries. By visiting, it is possible to admire beautiful stained glass windows of the sixteenth century classified as an historic monument, and incredible faux marble paint. Now separated from the main building, Carville tower is subject to registration as an historic monument, like the church.

Strolling down Darnétal you can enjoy the many vestiges of the great industrial era of the city. During your walk, you will discover old factories and mills or the mills on the banks of Robec. The plant Cheese, especially now houses the National School of Normandy architecture.

In the historical center, several timbered houses testify to the antiquity of the place, as the grant, a brick building which was used to collect the head tax in the city.

Darnétal is also appreciated for its rich natural heritage. Several walks are possible in the wood Roule, which dominates the city and the loop of the Seine and has various sports fields.
