Nicknamed the Country of the extensions, the commune of Douzy is located in region Grand East, in the Ardennes. A new municipality, it was born in 2015 from the merger of Douzy and Mairy. It takes place not far from the border with Belgium, about a hundred kilometers from Luxembourg.
The town of Douzy was once a favorite place of Emperor Charlemagne's palace and was part of the principality of Sedan between the middle of the 16th century and the middle of the 17th century. Today, it is resolutely oriented towards tourism, notably thanks to its leisure base and its blue-flagged beach Pavillon Bleu.
The city boasts a number of quality tourist infrastructures, and offers visitors an interesting architectural heritage testifying to its rich past.
