The worksite drags on and, despite the efforts made by the parishioners in donations and days of chore for the transport of materials... the municipality, too poor to honor its debt, must resolve to stop the work even before they are completed. The unfinished tower threatening to collapse, it must be demolished before it leads in its fall the roof of the building. It is therefore a church without a bell tower which is officially dedicated, May 5, 1874.

Every year August 22, the day of the patronal feast, was the occasion of a pilgrimage known and frequented all over Bas-Chablais. The rite consisted of going around the building seven times while reciting the rosary. It was, it seems, excellent to cure, even cure, rheumatism!
The last decades saw the completion of the church and the construction of its superb bell tower in 1991 and the installation of a carillon offered in 1992, by Mr. Jean Guyon and his wife on the occasion of the anniversary of their 50 years of marriage! Each bell bears the names of their children and grandchildren.
