Things to see and do

Old stones and beautiful sights are scheduled lanes of Gournay-en-Bray, a city full of rich history.

St. Hildevert college was built for the most part in the twelfth century. In addition to a Romanesque nave, it has a beautiful flat bed dating from the fourteenth century. The rest of the choir has meanwhile been rebuilt in the thirteenth century. The church was listed building, particularly for its Romanesque capitals which are among the most interesting of the region. They have randomly checkerboards decorations, rafters or very expressive figurative scenes.

Included in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments, the door of Paris was built in the eighteenth century. It is instead an ancient fortified gate. We can also admire the remains of the city walls dating from the thirteenth century.

The monumental fountain in the city, built in the eighteenth century, was classified as an historic monument in 1945.

Walking through the streets of Gournay-en-Bray, visitors enjoy the old ditches of the tenth century, the Capuchin convent that now houses the commercial court, or the old market in butter dating from the nineteenth century.

The small Normandy town Gournay-en-Bray has a large number of cultural events throughout the year.

The Gournay-en-Bray market is held weekly on Tuesday and Friday mornings.

The festival of street arts of Gournay-en-Bray takes place every year at least June with different shows throughout the city.

Every year in July, Gournay-en-Bray famous St. Clair. The festival takes place over ten days with different activities like a ride, a parade or concerts.

In November, place tales festival with readings and events organized for the occasion.

The Bray Jazz Festival swinger Normand made the city every November. While the Gospel festival in Bray takes place every year in December.
