Located about twenty kilometers from Rennes and Fougères, the town of Liffré takes place in Brittany, in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine. Surrounded by forests, it offers a unique natural setting to its visitors.
Populated since the Gallo-Roman era, the town of Liffré was born strictly speaking in the twelfth century, and became a favorite hunting ground for the Counts of Rennes and the Dukes of Brittany. It develops its economy around forges, stone quarries and the forest. Theater of a violent battle between the royalists and the Republican troops in 1794, it then regains calm, even experiencing a major population boom since the 1970s.
Today, Liffré still seduces visitors with its architectural heritage, as well as with its very pleasant forest landscapes.
