Located in the Île-de-France, in the Yvelines department, the city of Montigny-le-Bretonneux takes place twenty-five kilometers from Paris, south-west of the capital. It is located about ten kilometers from Versailles and its famous castle. Integrated into the new town of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, the town experienced a major economic and urban development in the late twentieth century.

Large estate, the farm of Manet was built for the Templars Elancourt. Former property of the Abbey of Port Royal in the thirteenth century, it is now owned by the city of Montigny-le-Bretonneux who renovated its buildings. The farm now hosts seminars, exhibitions, shows, or even a pony club.
At the heart of the old town of Montigny, the Saint Martin church was built in the course of the thirteenth century. Rebuilt in the early seventeenth century, it is today one of the jewels of the city.
Built between 1875 and 1879, the fort of Saint-Cyr aimed to protect the city of Paris after the war of 1870. After a meteorology school, he now hosts the photographic archives of the Ministry of Culture.
