Saint-Cyr-l'École and its nearly 18,200 inhabitants takes place in the Yvelines department in the region Île-de-France. The town is located about fifteen kilometers from Paris, and borders of Versailles, Guyancourt, or Bois d'Arcy. Saint-Cyr-l'École is best known for his military school and to house one of the oldest civil airfields in France.
Francilienne city would take its name from the fourth century, during the persecution of Christians. At that time, St. Cyr, who was only three years old, was killed with his mother, St. Julitta. The school term is meanwhile reference to the military prestige of high school. The city, however, dates from the late eleventh century, when the monks of the abbey of Sainte-Geneviève Paris decides to implement a chapel and priory. Today Saint-Cyr-l'École economy is mainly related to aeronautics.
