City of Mayenne, in Pays de la Loire, Saint-Berthevin takes place not far from Laval, in the former historic province of Maine. It is located on the edges of the Concise forest, not far from Montigné-le-Brillant, Forcé or Saint-Jean-sur-Mayenne.
Located at the gates of Brittany, the town saw its history begin in the 9th century with the martyrdom of deacon Berthevin who gave it its name. It became famous from the middle of the 16th century by its exploitation of pink marble discovered by a monk, which was exported to America from the 16th to the 19th century.
Awarded two flowers in the competition of towns and villages in bloom in France, the town of Saint-Berthevin seduces with its natural charm, its economic and sporting dynamism or even by the richness of its architectural heritage which bears witness to this golden age of marble.
