Municipality of Yvelines, in the Ile-de-France region, Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche takes place only ten kilometers from Versailles and its world famous royal castle. It is also located not far from Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Feucherolles or Noisy-le-Roi.
The one which takes its name from an 11th century chorevebishop, Saint Nonne, was originally made up of four small hamlets. Long focused on agriculture, the municipality of Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche experienced a new boom in the 17th century with the construction of a new castle brought up to date at the beginning of the 18th century by the legitimized son of Louis XIV and Madame de Montespan, Louis- Alexandre de Bourbon.
