Stains

Nowadays, the castle of Stains was built in the 18th century. From the estate, ravaged during the war of 1870, there are still some communes, including the stables which today house the town hall. The park has been fully built to become the famous garden city of Stains. The latter has been included in the inventory of scenic sites and the national heritage. Built between the years 1920 and 1930, it serves as a reference city for architects and is considered one of the most beautiful and most successful in the country.

Former châtellenie of Montmorency, the castle of the Motte was completely destroyed in the first half of the XIX^e century. One can admire some vestiges like the dependences or the porch of style Rocaille integrated to the library of Stains.

Built in the second half of the 16th century, Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church was partly rebuilt after the war of 1870 and lost its bell tower in 1950. Today it is forbidden to the public because of its It was made famous by the painter Maurice Utrillo, in his picture Church of Stains.

The town of Stains has a large number of working gardens and is rewarded with two flowers in the competition of flowered towns and villages. It is also partly located on the famous La Courneuve park.

The markets are held on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, in the morning. A Christmas market with several animations is also offered in December.

In April, place to the festival of the environment and its entertainment oriented towards the preservation of nature.

The world festival of the game takes place in May.
