City of Seine-Saint-Denis in the Île-de-France region, Stains takes place in the metropolis of Greater Paris, only fifteen kilometers from the center of the capital. Close to Charles-de-Gaulle airport, it is also bordering Garges-lès-Gonesse, Saint-Denis, La Courneuve and Sarcelles.
Independent parish from the beginning of XIIIe century, the commune of Stains was at the time an important commandery of Templars. Established in the seigneury two centuries later, it developed strongly in the nineteenth and twentieth century with industrialization.
Today, Stains has put forward its history and its culture to become a friendly place of tourism in the Paris region.
