Valenton is a commune of Île-de-France in the Val-de-Marne department. It takes place in the south-east of Paris, not far from Créteil and Maisons-Alfort. Limitrophe of Yerres and Choisy-le-Roi, it is particularly known for its many green spaces.
Formerly a dependency of the abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the city of Valenton was born during the 6th century. The center of viticulture in the 13th century, it completely changed the economy in the 18th century to turn to the cultivation of fruit trees and vegetables. It experienced an important development during the installation of the railway in the first half of the twentieth century, thus getting closer to Paris and its activity.
From its rich history, Valenton has preserved some beautiful monuments to discover the time of a visit to the region.
