The Coteaux du Plateau de Langres

• Orcevaux

• Formerly known as Orcivallis or Orceval, the village was a hamlet dependent on the parish of Flagey. Orcevaux obtained the status of commune at the Revolution of 1789, but it will continue to use the church, the cemetery and the school of Flagey.
• In 1883, the heads of families of the commune met to build a church. Unfortunately, as a result of divisions, the building is not quite finished. The building, with five buttresses and seven windows, serves a few years of chapel before being forced, by the law of 1880, to become a school and housing teacher. A class of 31.5 m² is born as well as a kitchen and a room on the floor. In 1883, a fountain was built in front of the school. In 1904, two new rooms are arranged in the attic. The school operated until 1967. Finally, it is in 1998 that the building became town hall.
• In 1908, elected officials thought to install public fountains in the village using the source of Grand-Fond which is bought in 1911. A project is established in 1912, but it is interrupted by the Great War. It was not until 1925 that it ended.

• Very nice point of view on the Pays de la Vingeanne and the lake of the same name.
• Lake Villegusien is a vast sheet of nearly 200 hectares for a maximum of 2 kilometers. Its depth is moderate (9.70 meters). The largest basin (8,650 hectares), drained by the Vingeanne and Valinot, is abundant. Most of the volume of water received, exceeding the storage capacity of the reservoir (8,338,000 m3) passes through the winter.
• The lake can discharge 8,178,000 m3 on the Saône side only. The dike is 1250 meters long and 11.50 meters high. Made in a clear bowl, it detains in France the record in length during its construction which took place between 1902 and 1904, it is in ground wrought.
• Built 20 years later than the reservoirs of La Liez and La Mouche, the Villegusien dike implements the technique of wrought earth. It is entirely built of sandy clay but a soil that we have carefully removed stones, roots and other impurities. Mixed with sand, this earth is then spread in steps, triturated and then compressed by means of rollers. These are then covered with a cement mortar.

• Verseilles-le-Haut

• Verseilles-le-Haut, which had 114 inhabitants in 1804 against less than 20 today, is also called Verseilles-au-Mont. The village has a beautiful little church of the nineteenth century, dedicated to the Virgin-in-his-Assumption, and overlooking the country of Vingeanne.
• Nearby, Our Lady of All-Graces, built in 1948, protects the lake. From here you can enjoy superb views of the lake. Formerly, the slopes of Verseilles-le-Haut carried vines.

• Wind turbines

• The rated power of these wind turbines is 2 million watts. They culminate (at the hub) to 80 meters high, to which we must add the 45 meters in length of each blade...
• To keep this whole device firmly on the ground, 800 tons of foundations were poured, thus ensuring the stability of these imposing structures which, although appearing to float in the air, still weigh 282 tons distributed as follows: 147 tons only for the mast, 70 tons for the platform, 41 tons for the rotor and 8 tons for each of the three blades...
