Charming little village of Côte-d'Or, Agencourt takes place at about thirty kilometers from Dijon, near Nuits-Saint-Georges and Gerland.
The town is mentioned for the first time in history in the twelfth century, but the territory has been occupied since the Gallo-Roman era and then had many lines of communication from Prémeaux-Prissey to reach Beaune-Dijon in Saint-Germain. Bernard. The place has long been frequented by the dukes of Burgundy who originally had a hunting lodge converted into a castle in the course of the thirteenth century. The latter notably welcomed King Louis XIII and was partly destroyed during the Revolution before becoming an orphanage for girls in the second half of the nineteenth century.
Today, Agencourt continues to attract visitors with its calm, its proximity to some of the most beautiful cities of Burgundy and its modest architectural heritage.
