Listed as an historic monument, the Saint-Caprais church in Chartèves, in the Aisne, dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries. Modified until the 15th century, it reveals to its visitors an incredible mixture of Romanesque and Gothic styles which makes all its charm.
Severely damaged at the start of the 20th century due to heavy fighting during the First World War, the Saint-Caprais church was subsequently largely rebuilt in the years that followed, but was able to keep its three altars of origin who miraculously survived the events.
