Common of more than 3400 inhabitants of the Bas-Rhin, in Alsace, Gerstheim takes place at about thirty kilometers of Strasbourg, and ten kilometers of Erstein. It is located north of Grand Ried on the border with Germany.
Mentioned in the second half of the eleventh century, the town of Gerstheim takes its name from the invasion of barbarians. Ravaged several times over the centuries by the floods of the Rhine, it is nonetheless very popular with tourists for its charm and its proximity to some of the most beautiful cities in the region.
Its position at the German border, but also its interesting architectural and historical heritage, make it an ideal city to spend a few days of holidays in this part of the east of France.
