The start is the parking of camping Au Clair Ruisseau. To get there, follow the signs " Camping " from the roundabout towards the Place de la Fontaine. The parking lot, there are bars for tying horses. The campsite also has meadows and paddocks to make boarding horses.
Take the red footbridge over the Hanfgraben. Follow the path along the Hanfgraben firstly past the housing estate, then, on the road to the sewage station, after the small bridge, turn on to the grassy path. Cross the D320. Continue to a farm track and cross the bridge on the right. At the end of the path, you will arrive at the D20. Cross it and turn left towards the roundabout.
Turn right across the bridge over the D426, then make your way towards the power station on the left. Keep on the path and continue up a small embankment which acts as a barrier, and cross through the large gateway towards the forest.
Keep on the right bank of the supply channel of the Ill. Take a beautiful path which is ideal for trotting or even galloping. Slow down as you reach the transformer station and continue to the bridge behind the barrier (towards Les Tuileries) and cross to the other side. Turn right along the left bank of the canal (do not follow the right bank, there is a small dam which cannot be crossed on horseback).
When you arrive at the Ill overflow canal, turn right on to the route along Plobsheim Lake, then, at the end, when you turn right, you will arrive at the Rhine (on the left), take the path along the small embankment between the forest and the wider path. Take advantage of the opportunity to try several different paces. Halfway you have to change (there is no choice) path to the stony trail and cross a small pile of stones.
When you start to see the pastures at the bottom on the right (2.8 km after reaching the Rhine) - turn around and follow the path lower down towards the forest. Cross the stream using the ford or the footbridge. As you leave the nature reserve, you will arrive at a path. Turn left and continue along it.
After passing the barrier, take the small path which continues straight ahead. Pass a gravel pit and cross a ditch. On the narrow path you will draw close to a gravelly surface. Take the path on the left and return to the polder's large gateway.
From here, take the same path back to the starting point.
