Bas-Rhin commune of more than 4000 inhabitants, in the Grand Est region, Plobsheim takes place about twenty kilometers from Strasbourg and its magnificent cathedral. Located on the banks of the Rhône-Rhine canal, it is not far from Fegersheim, Lipsheim and Osthouse.
First mentioned in the 8th century, the town was then called Bladbodesheim, Land of the amiable sovereign. Property of the Germanic Empire after the death of Charlemagne and the sharing of his kingdom between his sons, it subsequently found itself, in the 15th century, in the hands of the Zorn family which would greatly transform its image. The Alsatian city will come under the bosom of France at the end of the 17th century, when Louis XIV will integrate Alsace into his kingdom.
Today, the city continues to attract visitors passing through the region wishing to admire an exceptional architectural heritage that bears witness to the different eras that have shaped the heritage of Plobsheim.
