Today in ruins, the castle of La Ferté-Milon is a building in the birthplace of Jean Racine. Erected on the will of Louis d'Orléans at the end of the 14th century, it was never completed due to the latter's death.
Listed as a Historic Monument, it takes place on the banks of the Ourcq, still revealing its magnificent facade. Today much appreciated for its bucolic setting, the castle of La Ferté-Milon in its time inspired many paintings by the painter Maurice Utrillo.
