Located in the Gironde, in the region of New Aquitaine, the town of Haillan takes place in the Bordeaux and is part of Bordeaux Metropolis. It is located about ten kilometers from Bordeaux, on the borders of Mérignac, Eysines and Saint-Médard-en-Jalles.
Former rural area occupied by agricultural properties belonging to wealthy Bordeaux families in the Middle Ages, Le Haillan has kept many mansions of this era. The town was officially born in the second half of the nineteenth century, by decree of Napoleon III. Since that time, the small town has continued to grow, until its current size. A residential annexe of Bordeaux, it has always cultivated its alliance between modernity and green spaces.
