Saint-Aubin-de-Médoc

Main architectural attraction of the town, the church dates from the twelfth century and replaces another building built on the remains of an ancient Roman temple. Romanesque style, it has many elements reworked several times over the centuries that followed, like the choir, the bell tower or the main nave. Inside, include exploring the mural remains in the small original oratory, chopped door of the tabernacle or monstrance offered by Napoleon III.

Strolling down Saint-Aubin-de-Médoc, be sure not to admire the room of Villepreux, the former stronghold of Saint-Aubin lords turned into a Trappist monastery in the nineteenth century, or the castle of Cujac. Former important wine center, it was entirely rebuilt in the second half of the eighteenth century.

The town also has several bicycle paths popular with locals and visitors passing.
