Located in the Rouergue (southern part of the Massif Central), the Common Nant extends over part of the plateau of Larzac Valley Dourbie; is the territory of the Regional Natural Park of Grands Causses. The chief town of the municipality, the village of Nant, lies 32 km southeast of the town of Millau.
Its economy reflects that of the department that has always turned to agriculture and sheep and cattle in particular. However, tourism is on this county of Aveyron in particular by its proximity to the city of Montpellier (1h15 by car).
The kitchen accommodates South Aveyronnaise the pig in all its forms and families often produce their own sausages and cured meats. Roquefort dairies use milk of sheep farms in the town to the famous cheese and when the milk is collected over a certain time of year, it is transformed into delicious cheese pérail which is a family exclusively raw milk.
