Orry-la-Ville

The monuments to discover abound in the town. It is no less than two sites classified as an historic monument in Orry-la-Ville. The first is the Church of Our Lady of the Nativity built in the second half of the twelfth century. Influenced by the architecture of Notre-Dame-de-Senlis, the religious building presents a novel style, with some Gothic elements. The bell tower, meanwhile, dates from the early thirteenth. The other site is classified Lantern Commelles, located at the end of the ponds of the same name. This is an old gothic fireplace belonging to a former tile Chaalis Abbey, which dates from the twelfth century. We also discover ancient residential buildings, the remains of the former monastic grange. The set is unfortunately not open to the public but can be admired from the outside.

Walking through the streets of Orry-la-Ville, visitors can admire several interesting sights, such as washing of the early nineteenth century, an old water mill of the eleventh century or the former St. Louis chapel of which only the eastern facade.

Marked by the horrors of World War II, the municipality of Orry-la-Ville installed several memorials on its territory as a memorial stone for two FFI killed just after liberation in August 1944, and a Dutch war cemetery in memory men who gave their lives for freedom.

Originally called the Castelet, the castle of the White terminal was built in the late nineteenth century by a Parisian pharmacist who wanted a second home. Now the property of the Regional Natural Park Oise-Pays de France, it serves the Park House and offers information on the surrounding environment.

The market is held every Thursday morning and the city offers a Christmas market in December.

The Summertime take place in the castle park of the White Terminal in May. For the occasion, several concerts are scheduled.

In September, Orry-la-Ville prepares its traditional flea market back to doing good business. For the occasion, a craft market is organized.
