Commune of Normandy, Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf takes place in the department of Seine-Maritime, on the edge of the department of Eure. Member of the Rouen Normandy Metropolis, it is crossed by the Seine, the Eure and the Oison and is located at the gates of the forests of Elbeuf, Louviers and Bord.
The recent town of Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf was born in 1857, following a decree from Napoleon, by the merger of two towns, Caudebec-lès-Elbeuf and Saint-Pierre-du-Liéroult. Also called the city of a hundred curbstones, it is characterized by the presence of numerous wells in the gardens of the Norman city. If it is recent, the town has however experienced human occupation from 600,000 BC, one of the oldest traces of habitation in all of Normandy.
Green and pleasant, the municipality of Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf was awarded three flowers in the flower towns and villages competition, making it a pleasant place to spend holidays in the heart of nature.
