Charming little village of Gironde, in the region of New Aquitaine, Sauternes takes place in the heart of the vineyards of the same name, not far from Langon. It is located about forty kilometers from Bordeaux, on the banks of the Ciron, a tributary of the Garonne.
Appreciated by visitors for its discreet charm and unspoiled nature, the town of Sauternes has been known for several centuries for its vines and its production of a wine today awarded an AOC. The latter, a sweet white, is reputed to be the best liquoreux in the world for oenology lovers.
