Truffle patch tour and truffle-hunting with a dog

A friend who had 'truffle hunting' on her list of must do life experiences and I found ourselves at Jean-Paul's truffle farm on a beautiful sunny day in February. We were met by Jean-Paul and given laminated information written in French and English which was especially helpful for my friend who's French was rusty. We walked the 500 m to the truffle fields and Elithys, the gorgeous 13 year old truffle hunting dog immediately got to work and smelled out the first of many. Jean-Paul is very knowledgeable and spoke at a rate so that I could understand most of what he said. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours in idyllic farmland.
