Listed as a Historic Monument, the Salt Grenier tower is one of the parts of an old stately home of Cholet. The building would have housed a salt loft from the 16th to the beginning of the 17th century and consists of a square tower with canted sides embellished with a round turret. Inside, a Renaissance staircase led to the houses in the impasse.
The Grenier à Sel tower, now owned by the municipality of Cholet, should benefit from restoration, as should the adjoining 19th century dwelling, in order to house an art gallery.
