Go up to the village of Bonneval Tarentaise. At the hamlet of Villard Benoît, turn right towards Le Biollay, then continue to the car park located at the Pont de Gelon.
The landscape is grandiose, the massif gives this place all its mineral dimension, it overlooks you with its most beautiful peaks such as the Pointe des Marmottes Noirs 2339 m and Combe Bronsin 2499 m.
After taking the path starting from the Gelon bridge which leads towards the summits, continue to the right towards the Pissus refuge. Go up the valley of the Villard stream. Once at a place called Les Pissus (1920 m), follow the path to the left until Les Teurs (1970 m) on a balcony path offering a view of the Vanoise glaciers, Crève-Tête, Mont-Blanc And much more.
Possibility of looping directly to Lac du Loup from Les Teurs. Otherwise, continue towards the Cave du Villard chalet.
From the chalet, go up the mountain pasture to Lac du Loup while respecting the possible presence of Tarines so as not to spoil their milk which could turn into Beaufort more quickly than expected! This wetland is home to the Alpine Triton and feeds the Haut Gentil stream; it is characteristic of the siliceous mountains of the Northern Alps.
Return to the Cave and continue on the right. Follow the Haut Gentil stream through a forest environment to reach the Gelon bridge via a gentle descent.
