Brem-sur-Mer holds many vestiges of a rich past. Association of the former communes of Saint-Martin de Brem and Saint-Nicolas de Brem, Brem-sur-Mer has its origins in the distant past. The Romanesque church of Saint-Nicolas de Brem, created in the 11th century, is one of the most beautiful medieval monuments in the department. While walking, you will also be able to see the Crulière menhir, a historic monument classified in 1934, also called "The Devil's Stone".

Things to see and do

The historical heritage of Brem-sur-Mer will delight history lovers. The church of Saint-Nicolas de Brem (11th century) with its triangular pediment, its frescoes and its 17th century crucifix is ​​one of the oldest churches in Vendée.

A small detour, during a walk, will make you discover the menhir of Crulière also denominated "the stone of the devil".

Stroll through the land of Brem by bike or on foot, thanks to the 2 cycle circuits and the hiking trail 'Vines and countryside' which will make you appreciate the beauty of the landscapes. You will pass in the typical village of Gachère, old port formed by the mouth of the Auzance and Vertonne.

The site of the Cabin, in the marshes of Chabossière, offers water activities (canoeing, stand-up paddle), and also oyster bar / wine bar with aperitifs-sunsets in the middle of the marsh.

A family amusement park is located on the town (open from April to September). A circuit of Segway is also open year-round (school holidays). The Parc des Genêts and the Vallée de l'Ecours are two picnic areas with a small children's playground.
